From Barbie to Skipper

Well, I know I was never Barbie, but the most interesting thing this week is the fact that my waist is disappearing. The baby books tell you that it’s because my intestines and everything else in my abdomen is moving upwards to make room. What that means is that my stomach is under my ribcage and pushing out my sides. (At the moment it’s not as uncomfortable as it sounds.)

My stomach hasn’t gotten very big yet, but it should be soon. Frank in formed me that according to the book, this week the baby is the size of a peach, but in two weeks it will be the size of a large banana. A banana?

So in preparation for my pending growth spurt, I’ve been learning a lot about maternity clothes. Side panels, full panels, demi panels…. The only stores around here who sell maternity clothes are Sears, Penney’s and Target. Thank goodness for Tannah’s suggestion to try Gap online–my gap order arrived yesterday. I have to say that the most comfortable thing so far are some drawstring straightleg sweatpants. I bought them for weekend wear, but they are so comfy I had to wear them to work today. they might even be comfier than my favorite pair of jeans.

I promise pictures are coming soon…
