Training for the Tour
Last night Frank got to feel a good kick from the baby. Usually when I
feel a lot of movement going on, it stops as soon as Frank puts his
hand on my belly. This time, Frank was finally rewarded with a kick or
hiccough or whatever the baby was doing that caused the jolt.
Today was also a good day for Frank because we got a private tour of
St. Joseph’s hospital. As far as I can tell, a hospital is a hospital,
no matter how homey they try to make it feel. One good thing that this
hospital has going for it is that it gets the Outdoor Life Network.
Normally, TV isn’t a big part of our lives; however, during July we
become Tour de France junkies. It didn’t take Frank long to realize
that my due date is one of the biggest days of the tour: when the
cyclists climb Alp d’Huez.
We’ve already told the baby about this conflict, and we’re hoping that
since the ears were fully formed (back in week 12) that the message got
through. Who knows, maybe the baby will be a cycling fan and come early
enough so we can watch as a family.
