The other night at dinner, Elizabeth spilled water on herself. She immediately took off her shirt and diaper. I couldn’t blame her for taking off the wet shirt, but the diaper wasn’t strictly necessary. Since we didn’t feel like dealing with squirming toddler butts during dinner, we just ignored the fact that she was naked at the dinner table.

Then she spilled applesauce on herself. As she’s seen me do a million times, she started scraping the sauce off with her spoon. When I told her to stop trying to do it that way, she grabbed my napkin and started wiping. Did I mention that she spilled the applesauce between her legs?

So we have a new rule: no naked babies at the table.
