Elizabeth is going to be a big sister!  I’m 3 months pregnant, due January 29th–when Elizabeth is exactly 2.5 years old. It’s hard to tell how much she understands, but she loves telling people that the “new baby is right in there” and pats my tummy. After watching an episode of one of those birth shows on Discovery Health Channel, she learned that the baby will “come out mommie’s vagina.” She likes telling people that too.

Yesterday she came with me to an OB appointment and got to hear the baby’s “heart beep.” She seemed to enjoy watching the doctor examine my tummy.

Every time you ask her if she wants a baby brother or sister, she consistently answers sister. I don’t know where that comes from–I’ve even tried to accentuate the word brother so it will sound more enticing, but she doesn’t bite. Only time will tell since we don’t plan to find out!
