Let the Terrible Twos Begin

Saturday was Elizabeth’s 2nd birthday. We celebrated by having a few friends over for cake, ice cream and presents. I had Elizabeth open some of the presents before company arrived to prevent her getting side-tracked from the present opening. I was afraid that if she opened her big girl underwear she would want to model every pair for her audience. As it was, she received several cute outfits from people and by the end of the afternoon had tried on each one.

Elizabeth was definitely more into the cake than she was last year. She sang “Happy Dee-Dee to me!” and blew out her candles. The stunned look on her face as she looked around at all the people looking at her and singing was cute. This year she had no trouble making her cake and ice cream disappear from her plate–some made it in her mouth, the rest either the floor or her lap.

So today we’re having a look at some of her new toys. Right now she is figuring out how to put together Mr. Potato head. I just like hearing her say Mr. Potato Head.
