Boobs are for Nursing
It amazes me that some people can be horrified by the site of a mom nursing a baby yet not blink an eye at all the cleavage and bootie shaking seen on TV these days. Babytalk magazine’s cover this month shows a profile of a boob with a baby attached. Apparently it has evoked quite a controversy, sending women scrambling to hide the magazine from their teenage sons and husbands.
Hopefully these women won’t pick up the latest issue of Vogue which shows a model nursing her toddler. I can’t see why this photo would be more objectionable than the photos of models in their underwear, but here in the US where the female breast is so sexualized, I’m sure the letters to the editor will be full of shock and horror.
For me the picture shows that nursing a toddler isn’t always like having a monkey climbing all over you–it can be a beautiful picture!
