Playgroups
Elizabeth and I joined the Moms Club of Evans. Although the club has a bunch of activities going on, the main reason we joined was to start going to a playgroup. I figured that she’s at the age where it’s important for her to start making friends and learning how to interact with other kids.
I […]Back in Class
Frank and I started our 12 week Bradley childbirth class last Friday night. Our goal is to learn how to have a successful natural (unmedicated) birth. Given our experience with Elizabeth, we don’t want to have any interventions that might start the cascade of interventions we experienced with Elizabeth.
The Bradley method focuses on relaxation, exercise, […]Culinary Genius!
Elizabeth surprised us with her culinary creativity last night at the dinner table. She carefully mashed select contents of her salad bowl inside her baked potato (spinach, broccoli, carrots, etc.). Then she closed the potato back up and proceeded to eat it like a sandwich. I think I might try a twist on this sometime […]
The Pretender
Elizabeth has become immersed in pretend play. As I type this, she is nursing a bottle of handsoap and covering herself with a hand towel. I had the honor of holding the bottle of soap, but apparently picked it up upside down and was immediately corrected, “No, this way.”‘
I read an article on pretend play […]Week 25
Week 25, 167 pounds
Last pregnancy I gained over 50 pounds, so I shouldn’t be too surprised that I’ve gained over 13 pounds in the last 4 weeks. No wonder I’m having a hard time bending over and feel like I’m wearing weights every time I walk up the stairs!
Aside from the weight gain, there wasn’t […]Excema
Today I got confirmation that the rash I’ve had for the last 3 months is indeed excema. Pregnancy hormones can do weird things to your system I guess! I’ve never had excema, but it does run in my family. It doesn’t seem like your typical case of excema judging by the dermatologist’s reaction. They took […]
Pregnancy Tips
With this pregnancy, I’ve been having a harder time remembering how many weeks along I am. For those of you keeping track, it’s week 24. I only know that because I subscribed to a site that sends me weekly emails telling me what week it is and offering some helpful tips.
Well, I’m not actually sure […]I Have Boobs!
That is not exactly what you expect to come out of a 26-month-old’s mouth, but Elizabeth has become fascinated with wearing a bra. She found her bikini top and announced that she was “putting her bra on.” I explained to her that she didn’t need to wear a bra till she gets older because she […]
Old Lady Lizzie
Elizabeth has discovered the joys of climbing. She’s started carrying around her bathroom stool to every room in the house. The way she hobbles around the house carrying it, she reminds me of an old lady with a walker.
Now she can enjoy “helping” with dishes and pumping out her own lotion. Last night I caught […]Over Half-way
I’m at 23 weeks now–over half-way there. Elizabeth and Frank can feel the baby kicking, which is exciting. I’m trying to get some organizing done around here while I can still move around without waddling.
Here’s the latest belly shot:and for comparison . . . here I am pregnant with Elizabeth at 24 weeks.
